Sarracenia: North American Pitcher Plant
Native to the eastern seaboard, these plants are both beautiful and easy to grow. The leaves have evolved into a funnel that has an intoxicating nectar on the rim (non-toxic to humans and pets) that causes the insects to slip and fall inside. These plants grow best outdoors in bright light, where they can feed on pesky insects such as ants, flies, yellow jackets and wasps.
NOTE: All North American Pitcher Plants require seasons (Dormancy period) to survive long term. Plants ordered November thru March will have brown pipes or traps on them. This is their normal dormant look and will resume growing in the spring. All plants are shipped healthy and ready to grow, and are guaranteed to arrive alive.
